CBD Products are either made from CBD isolates or whole plant extracts. The Entourage Effect
In combination, these cannabinoids (the fatty compounds found in hemp) have been shown to work together to produce greater benefit overall, known as the entourage effect. This concept suggests that when multiple components of the cannabis plant work together, a person receives more benefit than when taking isolated components. Endocannabinoid System
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) consists of a network of receptors located throughout the body which support general well-being and optimal function of the brain and body. Humans naturally produce molecules called endocannabinoids which are messages sent between these receptors, and they closely mirror the molecular structure of the cannabis plant. The cannabinoid receptors located in the brain are called CB1 receptors and receive these chemical messages that help regulate many other neurotransmitters, serving like air-traffic control for many of the body’s systems including appetite, responsiveness, or body temperature. The endocannabinoid system has been historically overlooked, and its essential functions are becoming more well understood with the advancement of cannabis science.
