MIAMI, Fla. — CannaMD, one of Florida’s fastest growing medical marijuana clinics, has tripled in size in less than six months. Adding to its Orlando, Tampa, and Mount Dora locations, CannaMD is now booking appointments for new medical offices in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Miami.

Before purchasing marijuana from a medical marijuana treatment center (MMTC) – or dispensary – patients must first qualify for a medical marijuana certification; CannaMD provides qualified patients with the state-required recommendation to complete this process.

Focused on evidence-based application of medicinal cannabis research, CannaMD offers a streamlined pre-qualification process, letting patients spend more time with licensed physicians.

“It’s about making the process as easy as possible,” CannaMD co-founder Ryan Scotson explains. “Marijuana as medicine is pretty new. So we’ve made sure we have experts in place every step of the way, so patients never have any unanswered questions.”

That process starts at home, where patients can see if they qualify for a medical marijuana card before ever scheduling an appointment. After a free phone call with a patient liaison – supervised by a registered nurse – qualified applicants submit all required paperwork online, leaving appointment time free for quality doctor-patient conversation.

“We take physician recruitment very seriously,” Scotson states. “We’re committed to working with leaders in the medical cannabis field.”

One of those leaders is Dr. Jason Schultz, who is passionate about fighting the country’s growing opioid epidemic.

“When I began practicing medicine, there was a lot of pressure to give narcotics no matter what,” Schultz recalls. “As I went through my medical career it got worse and worse. Now I have the opportunity to help patients with a natural form of medicine that produces better results. As a physician, it was easy to become an advocate.”

Florida currently recognizes the following conditions for medical marijuana treatment: ALS, cancer, Chron’s disease, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Florida’s Amendment 2 also allows for treatment of other “diagnosable, debilitating conditions of like, kind, or class” (including depression, migraines, and rheumatoid arthritis). Patients can schedule an appointment by visiting https://www.cannamd.com or calling 1 (855) 420-9170.
